About the Artsweek Section 🎨

The Daily Nexus’s Artsweek section covers the latest in music, movies, the entertainment industry and pop culture. We review recent film and album releases, report in-person on local events, write feature articles on student artists, and more.

For my second and third year at UC Santa Barbara, I held the position as Lead Artsweek Editor, overseeing over 30 writers in my section. As lead editor of my section, I scripted and published weekly 1200-word articles containing pop culture, art, and events to raise on-campus awareness. I also Designed the Artsweek section page weekly with my co-editors for the printed newspaper edition using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Lastly, I facilitated workshops to improve productivity regarding edits, content, and layout design.

With this leadership opportunity, I was able to not only enhance my writing and editing skills, but I also sharpened my creative knack in layout and design.
